Wade Ceramics are sponsoring the Ormiston Horizon Academy as part of the 2013/2014 KMF Young Engineer of the Year (YEOTY) Green Power Race Event in Newcastle-Under-Lyme.
After nearly 10 months of preparation, supporting the students with their building of a Green Power Formula 24 Kit Car, the main Race Day is now upon us, to be held on Wednesday 9th July at Darley Moor Race Track at Ashbourne.
Jason Bradbury, from The Gadget Show, will be hosting what is set to be a spectacular day for all. Each race will take 90 minutes, followed by a sponsor race and something fun & light hearted. There will be presentations taking place at the end of the day in a marque.
There will be exhibitors present on the day, including Knights BMW displaying their innovative electric i3 car. Morgan Motors are attending with some cars, and the British Radio Car Association will be there along with a few others associated to the day.
There will be some fairground activities to keep the children occupied, food & drink vans, and hopefully the ice-cream man will be in demand on the day (fingers crossed for nice weather!)
It is going to be a really big day, with fun and interesting activities for families and friends. There is an impressive guest list including government officials, the LEP, Chamber of Commerce, Skills Funding Agency, VIPs, the 18 participating schools and their sponsors.
We hope to see you all there!
